From a single bold idea to a growing restaurant community — here's the Chopt journey.

2009

The First Bowl

Chopt opens its first location in Midtown Manhattan. Armed with a sharp knife, fresh produce, and a vision for better fast food, we served our inaugural menu to a line of hungry New Yorkers.

2011

Growing the Family

With overwhelming community support, we opened our second and third locations across New York City. The chopt restaurant concept proved that speed and quality weren't mutually exclusive.

2013

Dressing Lab Launches

We introduced our in-house Dressing Lab — a dedicated R&D kitchen focused on crafting bold, globally-inspired sauces and dressings. This became the flavor backbone of the Chopt identity.

2015

Sustainability Pledge

We launched our Greener Chopt initiative — committing to 100% compostable packaging, zero food waste by 2020, and partnerships with certified sustainable farms across the Northeast.

2018

Digital & Delivery Expansion

Chopt launched its mobile ordering app and partnered with major delivery platforms, making it easier than ever for customers across the United States to order fresh, customized meals.

2021

Community Kitchen Program

In partnership with local nonprofits, we launched the Chopt Community Kitchen — providing free meals to food-insecure families and training aspiring cooks from underserved communities.

2024

20+ Locations Nationwide

Chopt surpasses 20 locations across the United States, serving over half a million meals annually. Our team of 300+ passionate food lovers continues to drive the mission forward every day.
